Vasavi. A setting sun whom casts the darkest shadows on warm nights. Every bit as temperamental and fiery as it is a beacon of hope.

Surrounded by a sea of carnage that baked in the evening sun of a waning battlefield, a young Tabaxi cub found a peculiar connection with a deity whose domain held over once sacred grounds. In exchange for performing a service for those whom had died there, Anubis would grant her a path to walk in life. Indeed, she held little memory of her birth, scarce a few years old at the time, and the voice of the God was the only one she knew.

Tending to the battlefield and seeing the dead to rest, Vasavi was desensitized to the horrors of the world and drew close to the deity's scant teachings. Though she left the devastated homeland she had awoken in, she never felt lost or astray. She aged, and her connection to the domain of the Grave only grew stronger, and she grew more bold, seeking challenges to test herself. Inevitably, she entered the kingdom of Rowen, expecting more opportunities to learn more about Anubis and grow. Instead, much of the kingdom was already at peace, with the largest threats being handled by a group of legendary adventurers.

Thus, she deferred to the less-travelled roads, eventually coming into contact with a number of adventurers who sought to scrape salvation from the jaws of madness. She both took pity upon them and saw them as fascinating specimens for advancing her understanding of the world, and it was not long before their loose company drew them into adventures and trials of their own. She became carefree, almost reckless at points, and had little care for the material or the supernatural both. When it comes to the subject of war, however, she always devotes her full attention - especially when it comes to collapsing churches on cults and setting everything around her on fire.

Then, it finally happened. The legends began to fall and succumb to an unseen madness. In the first time for many years, Anubis once more spoke directly to her in a private ceremony, warning of the potential dangers these dwindling flames posed for the balance of the world. She had come to pity these once-reknowned heroes - these legends whom had not the strength or courage to stand upon their apex any longer. To her, relieving them of their pain was not a duty simply for Anubis. It was her duty as a warrior, a killer, a healer, a destroyer, and a saint. She had little doubt that this was the ultimate trial that she had long sought. A trial that would help her find her place in the world at long last.
